For Physicians

Dear Referring Physician,

Allergy Ear, Nose and Throat Institute welcomes the privilege of working with you on the evaluation and care of your patients. We hope that we will be able to enhance your practice and care of your patients through prompt consultations and clear communication. Our physician referral line (580.536-7744) is set up to take your phone calls and requests for appointments for consultations. We welcome your calls, and our office will do their utmost to accommodate your patients in a timely manner.

When you or your office staff calls you can expect the following:

Your call will be answered promptly by a staff member able to make an appointment or direct your call.

You can expect your patient to be scheduled for consultation within a time period acceptable to you (if this isn’t able to be accomplished based on appointment availability, please ask to talk a nurse to access quicker appointments or to talk directly with one of our physicians).

You can expect that your patient will receive a full evaluation in our office by the physician of your choice (evaluation by our PA will only be used if this is acceptable to you to allow a more prompt appointment).

You may choose to have a direct referral to one of our doctorate level audiologists for audiologic or balance testing without a physician consultation if you prefer. They will report findings directly to you for further evaluation and treatment.

You can expect to receive prompt (usually within three business days) personal letters and full dictated consultations on each patient ASAP after their appointments. Our policy is to not interrupt you with a phone call after the consultation unless either you request a call or, in our opinion, the patient’s condition warrants such.

You can reach any of our physicians for personal conversation during office hours M-T 7:30-5:00 and Friday 7:30- 12N by calling our Physician Referral Line: (580) 536-7744 or our regular phone number: 536-8844. Our staff has been instructed to interrupt our physicians to take your personal phone call at your request. If you would like to leave a clinical message for a physician to return your call, you can ask to talk with the physician’s personal nurse.

Our physicians are available through the switchboard of Southwestern Medical Center and Comanche County Hospital or the Institutes personal answering service (585-4383) 24 hours, 7 days per week. If you would like to talk with the physician on call for the group, simply ask for the on-call physician to be connected directly.
